  Green School

The Green School is a project for 14-18 year olds, delivering a vocational training course called 'Skills for Working Life in Horticulture' accredited to National Proficiency Test Certificate/City & Guilds.

The first course started in April 2007 and 12 young people from 7 Special Schools in the locality attended.

The 2007 results were as follows:

    8 students gained full certificates

    2 students gained 5 units

    1 student gained 4 units

    1 student gained 2 units

All students had multi-disabilities so what was achieved by them was an excellent result.  All heads of schools offered praise at the standard of teaching and attainment.  One stated that this Centre forms the bridge between the close school life and college, developing the self-confidence of the students.

We are indebted to The Equitable Charitable Trust who sponsored this project.

A second course attended by 17 students began in September 2008.
